I am an educator with over 20 years of experience in teaching, teacher education and higher educational leadership and administration in higher educational institutions in Jamaica, my country of birth, and in the United States, where I am currently a resident. My two graduate degrees; a Masters in Education and a Doctorate in Education were achieved in the United States. My experiences in teaching started out as an English and Drama teacher at a number of grammar high schools in Jamaica, where I achieved a Bachelor in Literatures in English with a minor Human Resource Development. I am also a trained teacher completing an first class honor teacher training certificate from the Mico Teachers College (now the Mico University College), the oldest teacher training institution in the English Speaking Caribbean.
I am the recipient of the United States Department of State administered Fulbright/LASPAU scholarship for educators as well as the PEO International Peace Scholarship for Women. In addition, I have received a number of smaller scholarships during my tenure as a graduate student and Doctoral Fellow at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee.
